Single sign-on
You sign in to simmail once, at platform.simmail.dev. After that, every universe dashboard of every organization you belong to opens without asking you again, on whichever server it lives.
How it works, in plain words
Section titled “How it works, in plain words”- When you sign in, platform.simmail.dev gives your browser a short-lived pass. The pass says who you are and your role in each of your organizations.
- Each universe’s server checks the pass itself. It never sees your password.
- The pass lasts 15 minutes. When it runs out, your browser quietly fetches a new one from platform.simmail.dev and carries on. You do not see this.
- Your sign-in at platform.simmail.dev itself lasts 30 days.
- Signing out at platform.simmail.dev signs you out everywhere at once. A dashboard’s sign-out takes you there.
What this means for you
Section titled “What this means for you”- Role changes and removals take effect within 15 minutes, the next time the pass is renewed.
- Changing your password signs you out of every other browser.
- Apps never use the pass. Apps, CI and AI agents use API keys.
If a dashboard will not open
Section titled “If a dashboard will not open”If you are signed in but a universe’s dashboard says it could not check your sign-in pass, contact support: the server’s sign-in settings need fixing. If it says your pass has expired, reload the page to renew it.
